Description:
From her foster: Say hello to Olivia Holt, a.k.a. Livy! This sweet one year old tuxedo girl came to CHS from a hoarding situation. Livy is still learning how to be brave, and that people can be quite nice. She would prefer patient adopters that understand how to acclimate her slowly. The best environment for her is a quiet and calm environment, so no dogs or small children, please! That being said, I've watched her come out of her shell quite a bit! Though she still avoids human touch, she has grown accustomed to my presence, and no longer runs for cover when I enter her room. She also has a self-imposed limit of how closely she'll let me approach her, which has steadily decreased over time. She eats treats off of my fingers! She possesses a huge amount of curiosity, which I exploited in the best possible way: by teaching her the concept of "play." Playing with her is a great way to earn her trust. Livy loves long strings, toys she can bat around, and her two favorites: the laser dot and the wand toy - especially the wand toy (she can play that one for hours)! She may start out spending a lot of time hiding in her cave, but that's okay! With her already-developed interest in playing, she will steadily become more social. Recently, she started chatting with me, and has the most delightful-sounding chitter. With time, patience, and lots of love from you, I believe her transformation into a loving, cuddly companion will continue. If reading this has piqued your interest, come meet Livy today!
